What's the ceremony venue like? How accessible is it?The ceremony will be in Jenessa's parents backyard, the address is 26 Ridgemont Drive, Fernie. There will be residential parking down the street, along with signage upon arrival to guide you to the backyard. There are several flights of stairs, please let us know if you have accessibility concerns so we can accommodate. As it's a backyard wedding, the ceremony will be outside. Our date is in late September, so for your comfort we ask that you dress appropriately for the weather. Usually it's lovely and warm out that time of year in Fernie, but a light jacket might be welcome. Also, there will be lawn games and some of the ceremony seating will be on the lawn- please keep this in mind when choosing your footwear.

What is the reception venue like? Is it accessible? Our reception venue is fully accessible and is on the ground floor, and will be held indoor at Cirque restaurant at Lizard creek lodge. There is limited parking at the venue, however we're offering a shuttle to and from the venues as an alternative to driving. If the lot is full, there is plenty of parking available within a short walk.

Are there reserved hotel blocks?Yes! We have special pricing at Lizard Creek Lodge (the location of our reception venue). To take advantage of this pricing, please call Lizard Creek to make a reservation, letting them know that you're attending the Chapman-Drebnisky wedding for the group rate. If we have already discussed reserving a room for you at Lizard Creek separately, then your room is held for you, and you'll receive more information about check-in closer to our event date.

Is there a dress code?We suggest dressing in cocktail to formal attire, which aligns with the overall tone of our celebration. Feel free to embrace garden-party chic, and don't forget to check our colour palette for inspiration if you fancy (not required). We can't wait to celebrate with you in style! Please no denim :) Also if you're planning on wearing your best stilettos, perhaps reconsider. The ceremony will be taking place on a deck and seating is on the lawn, so a chunky heel or platform may be better to avoid a twisted ankle or sunken heel.
-
Can I take photos and/or share on social media? We would love for you to take as many photos and videos as you'd like - and we'd love even more if you would share them with us afterwards! However we ask that during the ceremony you please put your devices away and let our incredibly talented photographer Jasmine Jones (and her second shooter) take the wheel. As for posting on social, no rules, just try to capture our good sides ;)

Are there any local places you’d recommend I visit while I’m in town?Taking in the beautiful landscape, hikes and walks is definitely top of our list! Fairy creek falls is one of our favourites as it's where we first found morel mushrooms and where Taylor proposed to Jenessa. Afterwards go for a beer at Fernie Brewing, or a cocktail at the Fernie Distillery. Pick up breakfast at Big Bang Bagels for the tastiest breakfast sandwiches, or grab lunch at the Brick House. Shop down the main strip (2nd ave) and visit some great stores like Coal Town, Eye of the Needle, or the Bean Pod, or view the local art at one of Fernie's several art galleries.
-
Will there be an open bar? There will be an open bar at the cocktail hour before and after the ceremony, with our favourite wines, Fernie Brewing Co beer, bubbles, as well as non-alcoholic options. Once we get to the reception, drinks can be purchased from the bar as normal.
-
What's the food situation? We will have a grazing table and plenty of snacks directly after the ceremony, before heading to the reception to enjoy a delicious plated meal at Cirque Restaurant. Dessert and late night snack to be served well into the evening. No one's going hangry on our watch!
-
Will there be any time between the ceremony and reception? We've planned our day around minimal down time to keep the celebration going. The ceremony will be followed by a cocktail hour with food, drinks, and lawn games. Afterward we'll shuttle to the reception where there will be a tiny bit of flex time while everyone arrives. If you require time to go back to your rooms to freshen up, please prioritize the first shuttle back to Lizard Creek, dinner will be served promptly at 7:00. After dinner and speeches we'll move into dancing and partying the night away.
-
Are credit and debit cards accepted at the venue, or do I need cash?Debit cards, credit cards and cash are all accepted at the reception venue.

What's the plan for Day Two?We're so glad you asked! We'll be hosting a come & go style brunch at the Drebnisky/Carruthers residence the next morning around 10:30. Please feel free to join us for a casual gathering where we have a bit more time to catch up and spend some quality time with everyone. Breakfast will be provided and self-serve, so no set time to arrive at.
